Carl Atlee Rhodes, 70, of Lisbon, Ohio, handed away on Thursday November 10, 2022 after struggling a large stroke October 31 at his endlessly dwelling at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, OH.
Carl was born on August 14, 1952 in Salem, OH to Mark and Ina (VanPelt) Rhodes. On October 5, 1974 he married Edna Horst of Kidron, OH. The newly married couple settled in Columbiana County, the place they’ve lived for all 48 years of their marriage. In his youth he decided to comply with Christ and on the time of his demise was a member of the Valley View Mennonite Church in Dalton, OH.
He is survived by his spouse Edna (Horst) Rhodes of Lisbon, OH; two sons, Vernon Rhodes (Lynette [Miller]) of Lisbon, OH; and Dallas Rhodes (Karen [Good]) of Dalton, OH; and 7 daughters, Marlene Sweigart (Steven) of Morgantown, PA; Joann Fisher (Mervin) of Machias, NY; Twila Burkholder (Leland) of Bloomfield, NM; Karen Rudolph (Eugene) of Dalton, OH; Glenda Zimmerman (Jeremy) of Ossineke, MI; Juanita Rhodes of Willard, OH; and Denise Rhodes (fiancé, Wesley Martin) of Augusta, WI. He may also be remembered and missed by his 31 grandchildren. Surviving are three brothers, Webster Rhodes of Nashwauk, MN; Lee Rhodes of Patriot, OH; and Allen Rhodes of Columbiana, OH; and 4 sisters, Hazel Mosemann of Salem, OH; Eva Weaver of Columbiana, OH; Beulah Petre of New Waterford, OH; and Dorothy Cross of Tunas, MO.
Carl purchased a farm close to Lisbon in 1976. He was a really energetic man and held numerous jobs. As nicely as being a bricklayer, tiller and cattle breeder, he additionally devoted 48 years to Pioneer as a seed salesman. He loved the broad social life he had acquired by means of his church, household, and work. His household has many reminiscences of accompanying him in his favourite pastimes: checking crops, singing, searching deer, fishing on Lake Erie, and elevating and advertising produce.
