AUGUSTA – Stephen Wood Russ, 74, handed away peacefully in Augusta on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 after an extended sickness. He was surrounded by his household and his three youngsters stood by his aspect.
Steve was a thirteenth-era Mainer born in Cape Elizabeth to Robert Crossland Russ and Madelene Weeks Bunker and attended elementary college there. He grew up summers in a cottage on Cape Rosier in Brooksville, the place he loved spending time together with his household all through his life.
He attended faculty at Boston College, the University of Maine at Farmington, and the University of Maine at Orono, the place he acquired his BA. Surviving are his spouse Judith Russ; son, Abel Russ, Abel’s spouse, Jessica Scott, and grandsons, Obadiah and Kai of Saint George, Vt.; son Nathaniel Russ of Bangor; daughter Alexie Russ-Mapson, her husband Nathan Mapson; and granddaughters, Zoë and Niamh of Colorado Springs, Colorado; stepson Daniel Aho, his spouse Stevie and their youngsters Eva and Nea of Cumberland; Brother Joel Russ of Walpole, Maine; Nephew Andrew Russ of Damariscotta and nephew Matthew Russ of Waterville.
